Un muro que parte el cuerpo en dos (A wall that breaks the body in two) is a durational performance presented in 2018 in Plaza de la República in Guadalajara, México, as a response to the Mexican xenophobic reactions toward a Central American Migrant Caravan crossing the country on their way to the U.S. I lay on the floor while a construction worker builds a wall of cement and bricks that traverse my body. It is a call to solidarize and empathize with those who have to leave their home in order to survive.
