México feminicida y transfeminicida: tierra, performance presented at the entrance of Museo Cabañas, Guadalajara, México, 2021. Photography by Pistor Orendain.

A group of women sweep charcoal from a 100 kilo-pile to form a large-scale sign that reads "Mexico feminicida y transfeminicida". A ritual to sweep oblivion, silence, patriarchy, injustice and pain due to the brutal increase in gender violence, transfemicides and femicides.

México feminicida y transfeminicida is a performance project carried out in public spaces as a call for resistance, solidarity, and a present free from gender violence. These actions are inspired by the elements of fire, earth, air, and water. The interventions were presented in the city of Guadalajara for four consecutive years (2020–2023), each month of March, in the context of International Women’s Day (8M). This performance corresponds to the element of earth.
