A remote-control blimp with the messages “México feminicida” and “México transfeminicida” accompanied the 8M Women’s March contingent in the city of Guadalajara, México, as a denounce of the brutal increase in gender violence in the state of Jalisco and the authorities lack of action. This intervention takes the sky as a stage to demand justice and to express the dimension of the crisis that Mexican women are facing today. Jalisco is among the states with the highest numbers of femicides in México, with an impunity rate of 90%. Likewise, hate crimes due to sexual preference and gender identity, like transfemicides are on the rise and are not even recognized by the state.

México feminicida y transfeminicida is a performance project carried out in public spaces as a call for resistance, solidarity, and a present free from gender violence. These actions are inspired by the elements of fire, earth, air, and water. The interventions were presented in the city of Guadalajara for four consecutive years (2020–2023), each month of March, in the context of International Women’s Day (8M). This performance corresponds to the element of air.
